10 of the Baddest Boxers In Video Games

Boxing is one of the most historical and popular sports of all time and it's smooth transition to video games hasn't gone unnoticed, specially when you take into account the amount of charismatic and hard hitting boxers that have come from the fighting game genre since Capcom's first Street Fighter title in 1987.

It's been used as a fighter's style of choice in a number of popular and iconic 2D and 3D fighting games since the genre's birth. In fact the first game to include fist fighting was the 1976 arcade game Heavyweight Champ.

In 2013 we gave recognition to some of the best boxers in video game history but regrettably the list was incomplete and was missing several boxers from the video game world, fortunately we have redeemed ourselves and updated the list with some of the most baddest mofos in video game's fictional boxing circuit.

Mickey Rogers: The Art of Fighting

At one time Mickey Rogers was a proficient boxer, but was cut from the sport because he incidentally murdered an opponent in one of his matches. He waits in South Town looking for opponents to vent his frustration and wrath on, and competes in the King of Fighters tournament for the exact same reason.

Nice but its hard to say between Balrog and Little Mac, Balrog's ruthless and strong but Mac's never been beaten. Good video can't wait to see Little Mac come back he's a true champion.

  7. Balrog hands down is the baddest boxer in video game history. I'm sure in real life if Balrog existed he could go toe to toe with a prime Mike Tyson, really hope dude is in Street Fighter 5 along with Dudley.

  12. Correct me if I'm wrong but it says that tj was the reigning champ for 20 years but he's only supposed to be 2 years older than orchid meaning that he should only be 34, so he's been the champ since he was 14?

  13. Balrog is the ultimate boxer in video games, heck he's based on Mike Tyson, no matter what Capcom say.
