Captain Falcon and F-Zero Fans Screwed

F-Zero fans won't be happy about this one as the F-Zero franchise is tossed aside in favour of more annual injections from the ever so popular Mario Kart series. Shigeru Miyamoto informed IGN of the disappointing news as quoted by the man himself.
"I certainly understand that people want a new F-Zero game," Miyamoto said. "I think where I struggle is that I don’t really have a good idea for what’s new that we could bring to F-Zero that would really turn it into a great game again. Certainly I can see how people looking at Mario Kart 8 could see, through the anti-gravity, a connection to F-Zero. But I don’t know, at this point, what direction we could go in with a new F-Zero."
No doubt favouritism played a huge factor in this taken direction and of course what this means is we won't be seeing Captain Falcon anytime soon. Funnily enough Miyamoto's excuse is debatable in every sense especially when looking in Mario Kart and Zelda's direction.

As for changes? No real change needed to be implemented, just an addictive Online Mode experience, new tracks, solid HD graphics and voila you have a system seller on your hands. Sega could handle F-zero if Nintendo's schedule was packed, it's a no brainer.

Unfortunately Nintendo's big dog doesn't see things as clearly. All fans want is an HD revamp of the futuristic racer but with Captain Falcon forever in Mario's tall shadow, it's not happening. You could say R.I.P F-Zero for now..

  1. There was another interview with Miyamoto a while ago stating how surprised he was at the amount of people wanting a new F-Zero game.

Just goes to show how out of touch he can be sometimes.

Stuff like 1080 snowboarding and F-Zero to me would be a good hook to get non fans boys slightly more interested in the console.

He's still butt hurt from SEGA's F-Zero GX. EAD Miyamoto. Just give me that game in HD with online play, and I'm set.

  4. I don't get it. They keep making mario games and mario kart games that aren't that different from before. Why not just make a better Fzero game too.

  5. Man that's disappointing news. A new F-Zero would move me a lot closer to buying a Wii U. It can't be that hard to think of a direction for the game.

  6. Miyamoto has said this kind of thing about F-Zero before, and it really makes no sense. What is he talking about? Just make another F-Zero game, like the last one or the one before that (GX and X)! It doesn't need to be some completely new thing, and it's badly needed.

  7. Dude wtf Miyamoto. It's not like the past 3 NSMB games have been that different from each other, why can't Fzero just be a faster, better graphically update to the GC game?
