Capcom has bought the beloved Breath of Fire series back from the dead but unfortunately you probably won't recognize it. The last BOF, Breath of fire Dragon Quarter was released in 2002 and since that period Capcom has completely neglected the series until it's surprising announcement today.
Currently only confirmed for Japan and taking a step back from it's traditional roots, the series has been given a number of noticeable changes including being the first BOF not to debut on a home console. Breath of Fire 6 will instead be reincarnated into a touch-based RPG for iOS, PC and android, which will be online for 90 percent of your playthrough. No blue haired boys in sight either.
This will probably come as disappointing news to anyone who was hoping for a true next gen Breath of Fire title but instead forced fed an maplestory type tablet MMO. First it was Megaman now Breath of Fire gets thrown in the back of the van for milking, which will surely displease original fans who remember their first real Breath of Fire experience.
