Rep your crew with GTA 5 Online Face Bandana Masks

Finally after a year and a half of suggestions and complaints from the GTA community, face bandanas have eventually made their way into the online portion of GTA 5. Since October 1st 2013 some players expressed their dismay at the non existent face bandanas which were seen on two Grove Street group members on loading screen art.

In the GTA universe face bandanas were first seen in Grand Theft Auto San Andreas as a purchasable item in various stores around Los Santos for the main protagonist Carl Johnson. If you were serious about repping Grove Street and taking it to their arch nemesis the Ballas, then the face bandana was the perfect finishing touch to an all green outfit.

After a lengthy absence in the series, the face bandana made a return in GTA V and was given to the player after successfully completing the game. Now a year and half later the face bandana has finally made it's way into GTA 5 Online, but is it a year too late?

At the beginning of GTA 5 Online's lifespan Rockstar introduced crews. These crews are created through Rockstar Social Clubs, crews consist of a group of players that can fight against other crews and even form alliances with them. GTA Online allows characters to work jointly in a crew and aid one another in illegal activities.

At the peak in 2013 majority of crews loved to dress up and match each other in clothes to show loyalty to their groups in game and face bandanas were the perfect accessories for many crew outfits, especially those crews who were imitating the The Families (Grove Street), Ballas and other street gangs in Los Santos, only they weren't made available until much later and any long term interest of crew representation has long fizzled out, so has the ship sailed?

Face bandanas ain't all glamour as they can still be used in heists and quickie mart robberies, allowing players to conceal their character's face. Face Bandanas were one of the masks that came with the recent large heist DLC update, accompanying other requested masks and clothing such as balaclavas, gloves and much more.

The only problem with the face bandanas in the mask shop are that they're equipped with sunglasses and a hat by default but luckily this little quirk can be fixed by visiting your nearest clothing store and unequipping them individually, although it would have made more sense if Rockstar had just allowed players to buy face bandanas as a standalone mask, thus ditching the shades and new era cap.

We decided to try on the face bandanas which can be seen in our latest showcase video, our characters rock green and purple bandanas as they chill around South Los Santos on pedal bikes with the notorious street gangs The Families and Ballas.

  2. I think they were waiting until the heist DLC to drop face bandanas and here i was thinking they were saving them for a gangsta style dlc.

  3. I know you can take the sunglasses and cap off but they should have never included them with the face bandana, maybe it had something to do with heist though to completely cover the face including eyes.

  5. Finally isn't even the right word, i'd say it's way overdue. They should have been available since the launch of GTA 5 Online tbh.

  7. Was so scared that you wouldn't be able to remove the shades with the face bandana mask but I'm just glad you're allowed to.
